This is the second solar powered product from Regen that is due to arrive early next year. The ReVerb audio dock here has quite stylish and classy look to it and would comfortable sit in anybody`s front room or bedroom on looks alone.
Capable of giving out 6 watts but equivalent to 60 watts of audio, which is more then enough except for the most noisiest of heavy metal banging parties. But the feature worth reminding is that all this is done with solar power.
Standing 3 feet tall and coming in with a quite hefty price tag of US$2,299. While on looks alone everybody wants it,but the price might be far too high for most people to consider as a solar energy saving product.
Charge times here are double the amount of playback time so this means that the device should be capable of light use. For more heavy use then being totally solar powered might not be enough. Luckily or Unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, the ReVerb also comes with the ability to be charged by normal unclean means – plugging it in to the wall.
For that price tag, I think Regen could have made this much more than just a dock. Clock, Radio and it`s own inbuilt memory making it a complete audio player without the need to stick a horrible looking iPod or iPhone device on top, Your tastes may differ.
While I congratulate Regen on their visionary use of solar energy in their products, I feel that this might appeal to just a few of those who feel that they “must have”.
