This works just like most modern solar gadgets, the suns rays are converted, by a solar cell built in to the radio, into electricity. This charges up the on-board batteries, even when the radio is turned off. Unlike using solar energy to heat water, the small solar panel or photoelectric cell trickles the converted suns rays under virtually any sunlight. The brighter the sun the better but even on overcast dull days the photoelectric cells will still work keeping your radio powered up and ready for use.

Fully charged the radio could last for more than 24 hours of continuous use without a recharge. For normal usage , your solar radio will always let you listen to your favourite station.

As the idea here is portability, away from home use, the radios are small and stylish. Easily slipped in to a bag or pocket to carry around. But these are equally usable in the home or garden. But saying that solar radios can come in all sizes and styles.

Don’t forget, you’ll not be using those toxic batteries that pollute our streams along with the added benefit of not having to pay for the expense of listening to the news ever again. Efficienteenergyechnology again improves the design with extra features such as nigh-lights or led torches built-in.

Going solar and avoiding batteries not only saves you money but adds that extra bit of effort to save the environment. Without having to do without any of life’s modern needs. A solar powered  radio is the ideal companion for your next holiday that you can still use when you come home.
