Love them or hate them, mobile phones are part of everybody’s life now. Even if you are not a fan of them and turn them off more often than on, there are situations where the mobile phone is an essential part of your baggage.
Travel – Being away from home for an extended period of time and a phone is an essential piece of safety equipment, modern life is fast and events happen quick, you need to be contactable and the mobile phone is ideal. But what about keeping your phone adequately topped up with charge when you have no access to the mains – you could be in a tent on top of a mountain enjoying the unspoilt wilderness.

The solar powered mobile phone charger steps in, small enough and wont take up space or weight in your baggage, these are low cost companions to your phone. Around three hours of charging will bring a dead phone back up to top charge. Unless your constantly having that gossip to find out what’s happening back home, less than half and hour a day will keep your phone ready for any emergency that might happen when you really do need to contact somebody.
Will it fit my phone? Yes, unless your phone is completely obscure your phone will be able to use the charger directly or with a small – usually supplied – adapter. This also means that most phone chargers could also charge other electrical gadgets, like MP3 players. But do check that your particular models are compatible with the charge.
As an added bonus, some solar charges also come with batteries included. These batteries are charged themselves by the solar charger. The upsides of this is even if your phone batteries have completely drained and it’s midnight you can still have a usable phone.
